Tenby harbour

I have a love/hate relationship with Tenby - a small town in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales.
It’s a beautiful place, running up the hill overlooking a fishing harbour with views down the coast and out to islands and rocks. It is incredibly easy to photograph.
However Tenby is also where I stayed when I was visiting my mother in a palliative care home until she died. So almost all of these photographs were taken when I was there for terrible reasons.
Photography is something that you can do anywhere and at any time. But it can help to get up early and get outside.

Esme and the tree
This was taken on holiday in Crete in 2023. We were heading to the beach on a warm, windy day and my daughter was waiting for her mother and brother to catch up.
I have to confess that I took the shot because her hair was amusing me - and I didn’t see the palm tree matching her until afterwards.
